3900 Series Digital Radio Test Set

3900 Series is the next generation portable test set platform for advanced professional digital radio communications.

Building upon a long-standing reputation for excellence in professional radio communication test, the 3900 Series from Aeroflex sets a new benchmark for quality, ease of use, performance and value.

The instrument is a platform onto which software options expand the measurement and signaling capabilities for communications systems that utilize advanced digital modulation and protocols. The first of the 3900 Series is the 3901, a 1 MHz to 1 GHz platform with system personality options for ETSI TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) mobile terminal and/or base station testing.

  • Digital PMR system options for TETRA terminal and base station equipment
  • TETRA RF signal generator
  • TETRA RF signal analyzer
  • TETRA protocol analyzer / generator
  • TETRA RF power meter and burst power analysis up to 125 W
  • Auto-Test mode
  • Color display with easy to use graphical user interface
  • Remote control via GPIB
  • Software upgrade via Internet

New to the series is the 3902. Based on the 3901 1 GHz radio test set, the new 3902 expands the operating range of the radio test set to 2.7 GHz for both generating and receiving analog and digital RF signals.

New TETRA Direct Mode Option
This NEW TETRA Direct Mode option provides the Aeroflex 3900 Series with comprehensive direct mode call setup and parametric testing capabilities. Complementing the TETRA MS Trunked mode option the new direct mode option extends the platform capability to give test coverage of the radio¡¦s hardware and signaling in areas that have additional demands placed upon them due to the technical differences between Direct and Trunked modes of operation.

New Analog Duplex Features
New analog duplex features have been added to both the 3902 and 3901 radio test systems. With firmware release version 1.1, both test systems now support analog duplex test capabilities as a standard feature. With this firmware release, these test systems now support extensive testing for AM and FM radios, including:

  • Full analog duplex operation from 1 MHz to 1 GHz or 2.7 GHz respectively
  • Full span spectrum analyzer with displayed average noise level of -125 dBm
  • Three independent audio modulation sources from 1 Hz to 20 kHz

Designed for Flexibility, Speed, Ease of Use and Accuracy
The all-new digital architecture of the 3900 Series not only delivers faster, more accurate measurements, thereby lowering the cost of test when compared to any of its contemporaries and predecessors, but also ensures that future market needs can be met in a timely fashion. The future of professional mobile radio is changing rapidly as technology advances and market needs expand and the 3900 Series is a platform that will stand the test of time.
