Isolation
amplifier
Isolation
amplifiers are indispensable components for signal conditioning. There are
several reasons that make galvanic potential isolation necessary.
Examples for this are personal protection, on the one hand, as required in
medical engineering to ensure contact of persons with life-threatening
voltages. On the other hand, different safety aspects, such as protection of IT
systems may require the use of an isolation amplifiers. If ground loops need to
be separated or if a small differential voltage with a high common-mode level
must be determined, the isolation amplifier is the device of your choice.
