There are two types of PML series passive probes, high impedance (10 ) specifications and low impedance specifications (500 Ω/5 ). We also have many tools to avoid probing troubles due to high integration of LSI. ..
Now let's think about probing the signal and ground lines.

For example, do you suffer from shorting with the next IC pin during probing?
There is an "IC cap" that prevents shorts between pins.
Probing a high-density, small-sized, high-pin count device often results in a short circuit with an adjacent pin, causing electrical damage. Here, we recommend probing with an "IC clip" that can reliably probe the pins.
For example, 0.5mm, 0.65mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.27mm IC caps with guards are provided to prevent short-circuiting between pins.Take the probe hook and attach it to the IC cap. You can realize safe measurement according to the pin spacing.

Also, is the signal to be measured output from the IC far from the ground?
Here we will use the ground blade.
Probing problems are often caused by ground leads. A commonly used ground lead is a 10 cm lead with a crocodile clip attached. It is also effective to make the ground lead as short as possible to realize a measurement method with less waveform distortion due to probing.
 
The PML series probes come with a ground blade and copper foil.By mounting the copper foil on the IC and connecting the ground pin of the IC to the copper foil, you can make a short distance from any pin to the ground line. A tool that can be connected is also attached. By attaching a ground blade to the tip of the probe on the ground side and attaching an IC cap that fits between the pins, you can easily perform probing with less waveform distortion.

Do you want to measure two or more signals at the same time?
A two-foot positioner is useful for capturing two or more signals. Since it is hands-free, you can concentrate on operating the measuring instruments and observing waveforms. Since the positioner body has an insulated mold structure, you can perform probing with confidence without shorting the board. It comes with 2 signals, 4 signals and powerful accessories that you can measure freely.
The two-leg positioner can probe PMK's 5mm probe, 2.5mm probe, etc. hands-free.

About probe calibration

We recommend that you calibrate the probe before using it.
The passive probe has a trimmer for adjustment to match the oscilloscope.
Without this adjustment, the rising and falling edge waveforms may appear rounded, overshoot, or undershoot. With such a waveform, it is not possible to accurately measure the signal amplitude with a narrow pulse width, so be sure to make adjustments.
 
If you decide the oscilloscope channel to use and the probe channel to use, you can use it without re-adjusting from the next measurement.
