As the standard of each nation differs from one to another, thus, if an universal applicable software was made, to let the user modify
by himself the test conditions & upper/lower limits as per required by each nation's standard, it is not only quite troublesome to the
user, also, user can make mistakes quite
easily.

Thus,Sunlight provides one corresponding software for each specific National Standard.When operate, the software can
automatically set the test conditions¡G Feeding Bridge Voltage, Serial Resistance, Current, Coupling Capacitor, Terminal Impedance,
Mouth Sound level and ACV of Receiving and Return Loss test are all automatically set by software, to avoid any mistakes made by

Ex. 1¡GBritish BS6317 requires¡G STMR shall be ¡Ù ( SLR + 1.5 ) dB or ¡Ù 7dB ,thus, the correct test mode is to test first the SLR, then
add 1.5dB , before it can be compared with the tested STMR. If only STMR was tested,then correct judgement on PASS / FAIL
could not be obtained.Thus, Sunlight's software for BS6317 can automatically test first the SLR before testing STMR, then, it will
automatically check whether if STMR ¡Ù ( SLR + 1.5 ) or ¡Ù 7dB ,as long as one condition was present, PASS judgement would
occur.

Ex. 2¡GTaiwan standard requires¡GTo test R distortion, it can be tested only when 100dB SPL were produced by the Receiver.Thus,
to test RLR,1700's software will automatically set ACV = 251 mv ,but while testing R distortion,it will automatically loosen ACV up to
100dB, so that its distortion can then be tested automatically.

Ex. 3¡GTo test the LR or RE of the telephone based on either British BS6317 or China Standard,The software will automatically set the
Terminal Impedance at 600£[ , but while testing the Return Loss, it will automatically switch to two different built-in complex
Impedances, & no longer
using the 600£[
,so as to comply with the standard of the two countries.

High Resolution¡EHigh Test Speed¡EThe world No.1 Test Speed
High Resolution : Has Two test speeds, fast & slow can be selected. The freq. interval for slow mode is 1/48 oct., practically near the
continuous sweeping. While fast mode is 1/12 oct. ,very fast test speed. (1/12 or 1/48 oct. means 1700 when testing the freq.
response, the tested sweep freq. points density in every double frequency interval, to test 12 points is known as 1/12 oct.
sampling points .But 1700 , when used for calculation of LR, it will automatically get 1/3 oct. points from the 1/12 oct. sampling
points, to calculate the LR, this is in accordance to ITU-T (former CCITT) recommendations which required that only 1/3 Oct. points
must be used for calculation of LR. But for freq. response test , 1/3 oct.freq. interval can't be used, since too few freq.points will
cause the missing of the "Dip" existed in the curve, without the "Dip", wrong judgement on freq. response limit will occured ).

(a) Resolution on Frequency points¡G
Some brand of Telephone Analyzer uses 1/3 oct. sweep frequency density for freq. response measure-ment, regardless how fast the test speed is,it will not be accepted by "Almost all the National Stds.". Since its resolution is too low, "Dip" existed in the curve could be missed, bad quality phone will be judged as pass one (see right Fig.): 0 & 4 appeared as a straight line, while 1-2-3 points have no "Dip" existed in the curve, but when 1/12 oct. is used, 0-1-2-3-4 completed curve can be displayed, misjudgement can be avoi-ded, Thus, 1700 never use 1/3 oct. for freq. response measurement.

Note 2: (b) Degree of automation on performing the sequential test on various items
As Ex. 1 of page 1 stated¡G If one instrument can't perform as fully automatic testing as example 1 stated, then, user have to test first the SLR, record down the SLR value manually, add 1.5 to SLR, then STMR can be tested, and then, determine manually whether if STMR was ¡Ù ( SLR + 1.5 ) or ¡Ù 7dB.In this case, eventhough the test speed of SLR¡BSTMR are fast, but the overall test speed (addition of manual test time ,¡Ï1.5, & judgement time) will still be very slow
